Bogart Wins 2 To Lead Oilers At Wheeling Jesuit

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Wheeling Jesuit University on Saturday, October 30 in Wheeling, West Virginia. The men lost 74-48 while the women fell 107-95.

Ailsa Hershaw led the way by winning three events for the women's team. She was first in the 200-yard IM (2:11.24), 100-yard free (54.30) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.55).

Her time in the 200-yard IM was a NCAA "B" standard and also set the Wheeling Jesuit pool record.

Nikki Schnell-McCoy and Emily Thomas had a hand in a pair of wins for the Oilers as they teamed with Samantha Reynolds and Jillian Herbst to capture the gold in the 400-yard freestyle relay at 3:51.03.

Schnell-McCoy also won the 100-yard backstroke at 1:01.93 while Thomas was first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.21.

Mallory Ament also took home a first place finish as she achieved the feat in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:57.27) in school record breaking fashion.

On the men's side, John Bogart won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.88) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.92) to pace the team.

Tim Andersson-Lind was first in the 100-yard butterfly at 54.97 while David Conti captured first place honors in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.70.

The Oilers will be back in action again on November 6 when they face Hillsdale College and Alma College in Hillsdale, Michigan.
