Oilers Defeat Urbana 115-97

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams both defeated Urbana University on Saturday, November 12 in Sink Natatorium.  The men's team won 115-97 while the women were victorious by a score of 127-63.

The men's team was led by David Soutoul, who won three events.

Soutoul won the 400 IM (4:09.15), 100 Back (53.91) and 100 Breast (1:01.00).  His time in the 400 IM set a new school record and was a NCAA "B" cut as well.

Dylan Webb won both the 1-meter (205.81) and 3-meter (192.38) dives while David Vittori was victorious in the 500 Free (4:59.33) and 200 Free (1:47.60).

Colton Sayers added a win in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:30.64) as well.

Molly Cade led the women's team with three wins as she teamed with Tanya Tikhonova, Kate Fisher and Samantha Reynolds to place first in the 400-yard medley relay at 4:11.07.

She also won the 200-yard IM (2:15.62) and 100 Free (55.60).

Emily Thomas won the 1000 Free (11:27.98) and 100-yard backstroke (1:02.88), Ailsa Hershaw was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.33), Annie Currin placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.51) and 500-yard freestyle (5:14.87), Maddie Bell claimed top honors in the 1-meter dive (234.90) and Jillian Herbst was first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.75).

The Oilers will be back in action again on November 18-19 at the Doug Coers Invitational in Muncie, Indiana.
