Ohio Wesleyan Knock Off Findlay Men

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday, January 20, in Delaware, Ohio.  The women's team won 166-73 while the men fell by a score of 129.5 to 88.5.

The women's team snatched many first place finishes, including dual first finishes from junior Emily Thomas in the 100 backstroke (1:00.99) and 200 freestyle (1:58.86) and Ailsa Hershaw in the 500 free (5:21.65) and 200 IM (2:14.12).

Molly Cade grabbed first in the 100 fly (59.62), while freshman Annie Currin took first in the 100 free (56.90) and 50 free (26.10).

Kate Fisher won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.53) and teammate Mallory Ament was first in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:13.81.

Maddie Bell's combined 1-meter dive score of 401.5 was a national qualifier and also set a new school record for the 1-meter (11).

On the men's side, four freshmen produced first place finishes for Findlay. Colton Brauning took first in the 50 free (22.41) while Ryan Randall grabbed first in the 100 free (50.50).

David Vittori won the 1000 freestyle (10:26.29) and Diego Santos finished first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.57.

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow, January 21, at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational in Delaware, Ohio.
