Oilers Compete At Lake Erie

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming teams competed at Lake Erie College on Saturday, October 27 in Painesville, Ohio. The women's squad dominated the pool with a score of 148-77 while the men fell 153-39.

On the women's side, swimmer of the meet Kaley Holstrom won three events to lead the team as she took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.19), first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.86) and first, along with Isidora Yanez, Tanya Tikhonova, and Emily Thomas, in the 200-yard medley relay (1:52.14). 

 Thomas also had a hand in three wins, capturing first in the 100-yard back (1:01.80), and teaming with Molly Cade, Emily Green, and Kari Lemanksi to place first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.62).

Maddie Bell took gold in both the 1 meter (231.31) and 3 meter (232.35) dives. Jill Herbst won the 100 fly (1:01.60) and Kate Fisher placed first in the 500 free (5:28.79).

Annie Currin rounded out the women gold with a first place finish in the 1000 free (10:51.79).

On the men's side, Colton Sayers took second in both the 500 free (5:05.21) and 100 fly (56.18). David Conti added a silver finish in the 200 IM (2:07.85).

The Oilers will be back in action again on November 3 against Hillsdale and Malone in Hillsdale, Michigan. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
