Todo Djurovic Sets New School Record on Day 2 Of The Calvin Winter Invite

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming teams completed the second day of the Calvin Winter Invitational at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday, December 6.  After day 2 the men are in seventh place with 115 points and the women are in fourth place with 250 points. 

On the women's side, the relay of senior Ailsa Hershaw, freshman Emily Annen, sophomore Kaley Holmstrom and sophomore Jessica Ward took sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.78. 

Ward won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.08, which qualifies as a B standard.  Freshman Hannah Schreiber took ninth place (59.46) and freshman Marissa McDonald took eighteenth place (1:01.04). 

Hershaw took third place in the individual medley with a time of 4:38.25 while junior Kate Fisher took seventh place with a time of 4:55.60. 

Kaley Holmstrom took third place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.01, which qualifies as a B standard.  Freshman Alli Slocum took twenty-second place with a time of 1:15.94 while sophomore Kari Lemanski took twenty-first place with a time of 1:15.23.

Freshman Kyleigh Rubis took eighth place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.81 while Hannah Schreiber took ninth place (2:11.79) and freshman Lindsey Norris took sixteenth place (2:32.27). 

Junior Annie Currin took fifteenth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.93 while freshman Corrina Talamo took eighteenth place with a time of 2:02.56. 

On the men's side, the relay of freshman Todo Djurovic, freshman Clay Fogle, freshman Nick Kaftan and freshman Cody Craig took thirteenth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:30.08. 

Todo Djurovic set a new school record when he took fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.75, which qualifies as a B standard.  Freshman Matthew Sheehan also took twenty-second place with a time of 1:04.59. 

Freshman Tyler Matthews took ninth place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:23.10

Junior Colton Sayers took eleventh place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.74 while freshman Aaron Mitchell took eighteenth place with a time of 2:02.76. 

Sophomore Garrett Gardner took fourteenth place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.33 while freshman Marshall Hall took sixteenth place with a time of 58.29. 

Nick Kaftan took twentieth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.18 while Cody Craig took twenty-second place (1:49.14) and Clay Fogle took twenty-third place (1:50.45).

The Oilers will resume the Calvin Winter Invite tomorrow with the first session beginning at 10 a.m.
