The University of Findlay men and women's indoor track and field teams completed the Findlay Open on Friday, Feb. 1 in Findlay, Ohio.

Jessica Rowland set the new school record in the women's weigh throw elite with a second place, NCAA automatic qualifying distance of 68-11.75. That distance is also good enough to rank second best in NCAA DII competition this year. Rowland also finished ninth in the shot put elite event with an NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 45-03.00.

In other field events, Lydia Guagenti took third in the high jump with a height of 5-02.25, while Laura Kelly took 5th (4-10.25). Kendra Averesch took fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 51-01.00, and Maud Sanmiquel had a fifth place finish of her own in the long jump with a distance of 16-03.00.

In women's track events, the 4x400-meter relay team of Samantha Grippe, Guagenti, Shelby Stump and Sanmiquel took third with a time of 4:13.57. Kayla Sendelbach took third in the 800-meter run (2:24.08(, and Emily Caudill finished fifth in the 200-meter dash (27:48).

In men's action, Dillon Webster set the track on fire in the 800-meter run breaking the Malcolm Center field house record with a first place, NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:52.00. the time is also the second fastest time for all NCAA DII athletes.

Webster also teamed up with Michael Travis, Tim Sanders, Joe Sherrieb to take first in the 4x400-meter relay with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:21.88. Sanders also finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.18.

In men's field events, Taylor Miller now holds the best throw of any NCAA DII athlete in the shot put elite event with his fourth place, NCAA provisional qualifying heave of 59-04.00. Glen Forsythe and Sherrieb took second and fourth in the long jump with distances of 21-03.50 and 20-10.50, respectively. Forsythe also finished third in the triple jump (45-01.50), behind teammate Colin Thomas who took second (46-01.50), while Darren Bass placed second in the shot put (51-01.50), and Marcus Vicars finished third in the weight throw (53-05.75).

The indoor track teams will compete at the SPIRE DII Team Challenge tomorrow.
