Oilers Complete Day One Of Jesse Owens Classic

The University of Findlay men and women's track and field team completed day one of the Jesse Owens Classic on Friday, April 19 in Columbus, Ohio.

For the men, Derrick Vicars finished seventh in the discus with an NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 176'00 while Justin Eilerman took 11th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:57.25.

Taylor Miller took 14th in the discus at 155'07 and Darren Bass was 21st in the same event with a mark of 141'05.

On the women's side, Jessica Rowland finished seventh in the javelin with a throw of 115'06.

The Jesse Owens Classic will conclude tomorrow.
