Throwers Compete at GVSU
Several throwers of the Oilers men's track and field team competed at the Grand Valley State University Last Chance Meet, which concluded on Saturday, May 11 in Allendale, Mich.
Derrick Vicars won the shot put with a NCAA automatic qualifying heave of 61'09 while teammate Taylor Miller took second with a NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 56'02.50.
Marcus Vicars took fifth in the event with a provisional chuck of 54'07.50 while Darren Bass finished seventh with a provisional mark of 53'08.25.
Vicars also placed second in the discus with a provisional heave of 181'04 whlie Miller took tenth in the event at 155'10.
Bass placed 15th in the discus at 148'00 and Parker Schroeder was 19th in the event with a toss of 138'08.
The Oilers will now wait on the qualification lists for the NCAA Division II National Championship
