Welch Takes 7th in Hammer Throw at USA Championship

Senior Justin Welch of the Oilers track and field team finished seventh in the hammer throw at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, which is being held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Welch had a throw of 221'05 on Friday, June 21 at the event to secure his seventh place finish.

Derrick Vicars will compete in the shot put event on Sunday.
