Vicars Takes 9th in Shot Put in Russia
Former standout track and field athlete, Derrick Vicars, finished ninth in the shot put at the World University Games, which is currently taking place in Kazan, Russia.
Vicars, a two-time national champion during his tenure with the Oilers, recorded the highest finish in the event for Team USA as he recorded a toss of 18.28 meters.
The Genoa, Ohio native will also compete in the discus at the event.
