Three Oilers Compete at Ohio State's Buckeye Tune-Up

The University of Findlay men's indoor track and field team sent three athletes to compete at the Buckeye Tune-Up in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, February 21st.

Senior thrower Marcus Vicars placed the highest of any of the Oilers in competition his performance in the men's shot put. His toss that measured 55'05.50 ft. earned him a third place finish and also met the NCAA provisional mark set for Division II throwers.

Also competing in the competition was freshman Ben Hahler. The young thrower took fourth place, meeting the NCAA provisional with a throw that distanced 55'03.75 ft.

Earning himself a fifth place finish was another young athlete, freshman Maliik Briggs. His time of 50.72 in the men's 400 meter dash garnered a fifth place finish.

The rest of the Oiler men and women will be in action tomorrow and Sunday, February 22nd and 23rd at multiple locations. Most will be participating at the Hillsdale Tune-Up in Hillsdale, Michigan while Justin Welch, Taylor Miller, and Derrick Vicars will be throwing at the USATF Indoor Championships help in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
