Oilers Take 3rd At Wooster

The University of Findlay men's and women's cross country teams both placed third at the 2010 Wooster Cross Country Festival on Friday, October 22 in Wooster, Ohio. The men finished the event with 71 points while the women had 73 points.

On the men's side, Justin Eilerman and Shoayb Bascal led the way by finishing 11th and 12th, respectively.

Eilerman ran a time of 26:37 while Bascal crossed the finish line in 26:39.

Jordan Kirwen (26:45) placed 14th, Tim Majoy (26:54) took 15th and Brock Lloyd (27:10) finished 19th to round out the top-20 placers for the Oilers.

Luis Velasco also ran for Findlay, finishing 35th at 29:53.

On the women's side, Christine Zimmermann led the way by taking sixth with a time of 19:10.

Rachel Hosie (19:33) came in 13th, Katherine McHenry (19:37) was 15th and Brier Sterling (19:49) checked in 19th.

Alexa Stults added a 21st place finish at 19:59, Erica Goeltzenleuchter (20:18) was 27th, Abigail Magner (20:21) finished 28th, Lindsey Schmitmeyer (20:30) crossed the finish line in 30th place, Catherine Wiemers (20:35) was 33rd and Stephanie Charnigo (20:42) took 34th at the event for Findlay.

The Oilers will be back in action again on November 6 at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship in Hillsdale, Michigan.
