Oilers Run Well At Mel Brodt

The University of Findlay men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the Mel Brodt Invitational on Saturday, September 11 in Bowling Green, Ohio. The women's squad finished the event in first place of the NCAA Division II/NAIA bracket while the men took second.

On the women's side, Erin Calvelage took third overall with a time of 18:57.4 while Alexa Stults placed seventh with a time of 19:16.2.

Christine Zimmermann (19:18.1), Brier Sterling (19:21.5), Stephanie Charnigo (19:30.3), Lindsey Schmitmeyer (19:33.4), Rachel Hosie (19:36.4), Katherine McHenry (19:55.1), Ashley Sprunger (20:21.4), Abigail Magner (20:30.0) and Catherine Wiemers (20:36.2) also competed for the Oilers.

On the men's side, Justin Eilerman took 21st at 26:10.6 while Tim Majoy finished 23rd with a time of 26:12.2) to lead the team.

Shoayb Bascal (26:20.1), Jordan Kirwen (26:22.3), Brock Lloyd (26:36.3), Sean Jones (27:36.5), Joe Guerra (28:06.3), Luis Velasco (28:49.3), Colin Walthour (29:13.5), Simon Bernard (29:15.3) and Alex Betts (31:47.2) also competed for Findlay at the event.

The Oilers will be back in action again on September 17 at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan.
