Oilers Team Named Academic All-American

The University of Findlay men's cross country team earned USTFCCCA NCAA Division II All-Academic honors for the 2011 year.

The Oilers were one of 80 teams in the country to achieve the status, helping the GLIAC lead all leagues with eight member institutions named as All-Academic teams.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.

Under the direction of Marc Arce and Lisa Klingshirn, the Oilers posted a team GPA of 3.30 in 2011.

Those notable individuals who earned All-Academic honors earlier this month were Shoayb Bascal and Tim Majoy.
