Oilers Complete Wilmington Fall Classic

The University of Findlay men and women's cross country teams completed the Wilmington Fall Classic on Friday, Oct. 12 in Wilmington, Ohio.

Justin Eilerman ran the second fastest time in school history, finishing second with a time of 24:56.60.

Tim Majoy and Jacob Hayes also had a special day for the Oilers. Majoy placed sixth with a time of 25:04.15 - third fastest time in school history - while Hayes took ninth with a time of 25:25.82, which was good enough for fifth fastest time in school history.

Other finishers for Findlay were Joe Guerra (26:45.19), Lloyd Brock (27:00.78), Luis Velasco (27:17.97), Alex Betts (27:21.67), Derek Bornorst (27:45.30), Connor Walthour (28:37.05), and Nick Valerio (30:04.43).

As a team, the Oilers placed fourth with a total time of 2:09:12.54.

On the women's side, Alexa Stults led the way finishing 27th with a time of 19:30.55, while Samantha Hassen took 31st with a time of 19:31.86, and Abigain Magner finished 34th with a time of 19:38.87.

Other finishers were Rachel Hosie (20:06.18), Erica Bettac (20:14.43), Samantha Grippe (20:15.31), Kayla Sendelbach (20:25.53), Meredith Hoops (20:42.88), and McKenzie Mahlmeister (21:02.41).

As a team, Findlay placed fifth with a total time of 1:31:01.90.

Both the men and women will be back in action on Oct. 20 when they travel to Midland, Mich. for the GLIAC Championships.
