Oilers Compete At Spartan Invitational

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Spartan Invitational on September 13 in East Lansing, MI.

In the men's race, Findlay junior Jacob Hayes finished with a time of 25:35, good enough for 29th among non-division one runners.

Also finishing for the Oilers were freshman Reid Wolin who came in 161st with a time of 27:39. Sophomore Derek Bornorst was close behind, finishing 170th (27:52). Other Findlay runners included freshman Josh Seedorf (28:40), freshman Seth Pemberton (28:50), freshman Aaron Cingle (29:19), and sophomore Nick Valerio (31:17).

On the women's side, Findlay was paced by senior Alexa Stults who came in 51st with a time of 23:09. Finishing shortly after Stults was freshman Melanie Ruich (62nd, 23:20) and sophomore Samantha Grippe (86th, 23:47).

Other finishers for the Oilers included senior Samantha Hassen (23:49), sophomore Erica Bettac (24:08), sophomore McKenzie Mahlmeister (25:24), freshman Erin Reinhart-Anez (26:01), sophomore Meredith Hoops (26:09), freshman Kailey Coleman (27:17), and freshman Bethany Dewey (29:39).

The Oilers are back in action next Saturday, September 21, at the Otterbein Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
