Oilers Sweep Storm In Painesville

The University of Findlay softball team swept Lake Erie College on Sunday, April 10 in Painesville, Ohio to give them a 18-11-1 record on the season with a 6-8 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers won the first game by a score of 7-5 as Calli Coppus led the way with three hits, one run scored and one RBI.

Brittany Dauterman and Jenna Motuza each added a pair of hits in the game as well.

Dauterman picked up the win on the mound, allowing two runs on six hits in four innings of work.

In the second game, Julia Stalder allowed only two hits in a 5-0 complete game shutout victory for the Oilers.

Kara Hochevar smacked a three-run home run in the first inning and finished 2-for-3 during the game to lead the offense.

Tori Allen also had a solid day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a run scored.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 12 when they travel to Mount Vernon, Ohio to face Mount Vernon Nazarene at 3:30 pm.
