Oilers Sweep Savannah State

The University of Findlay softball team out-scored Savannah State by a score of 23-3 in a pair of games on Tuesday, March 8 in Savannah, Georgia. The Oilers won the first game 11-1 and then came back with a 12-2 decision in the second to run their record to 6-0 on the season.

In the first game, Calli Coppus went 3-for-3 with three runs-batted-in while Kara Hochevar and Emily Reynolds each homered and drove in two runs apiece.

Alyssa Shultz picked up the win after allowing one run on three hits in five innings of work.

She also added five strikeouts and walked none in the victory.

In the second game, Carly Borders went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and five RBI's.

Lauren Mathias and Kate Streeter also drove in a pair of runs each.

Lauren Orban claimed the win after allowing two runs in three innings.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow a pair of games against Brewton Parker.
