Chargers Knock Off Oilers 1-0 To End Season

The University of Findlay softball team lost a one-game set with Hillsdale College on Monday, May 2 by a score of 1-0 in Hillsdale, Michigan. The loss eliminates the Oilers from participating in the conference tournament as they end their season with a 23-24-1 record with an 11-21 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Tawna Whited had a fantastic game on the mound for Findlay, allowing only one run on three hits in seven innings of work.

Whited gave up a solo home run to Jennifer Berlet in the first and then limited the Chargers to only two more hits the rest of the way. The Oilers offense could not get on track however as they only managed four hits in the game, two coming from Calli Coppus.

Jaci Messmer and Kara Hochevar recorded the other two hits for the Oilers.

The Oilers had their chances in the game but left seven runners on base, four more than the Chargers.
