Cardinals Sweep Oilers on Sunday

The University of Findlay softball team was swept by Saginaw Valley State University on Sunday, March 27 at Anderson Field. The Oilers lost the first game 5-0 and then were defeated 9-6 in the second to give them a 13-7 record on the season with a 2-4 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Alyssa Shultz took the loss in the opener, allowing four runs in five innings of action.

In the second game, the Cardinals scored five runs in the sixth to come from behind as Tawna Whited was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs in 1.1 innings.

Tori Allen went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two batted in while Kara Hochevar and Jaci Messmer each tallied a pair of hits in the loss.

The Oilers will be back in action again on March 30 when they host Walsh University at 3:30 pm.
