Dauterman Leads Oilers To A Pair Of Wins

The University of Findlay softball team swept Ohio Dominican University in a doubleheader at Anderson Field. The Oilers won the first game by a score of 7-3 and then won 13-4 in the second contest to give them a 22-20-1 record on the season with a 10-17 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Brittany Dauterman was the star of the day for the Oilers as she finished 4-for-7 at the plate with three home runs, nine runs-batted-in and three runs scored.

In the first game, Dauterman hit a three-run homer to center in the first inning and also produced a solo shot to center in the sixth as she finished 2-for-4 with four runs-batted-in.

Dauterman also picked up the save in relief of Julia Stalder, throwing 1.2 innings of shutout ball.

Stalder started and allowed three runs on three hits in 5.1 innings of action.

Tori Allen also had a good day at the plate in the opener, finishing 2-for-4 with a RBI.

In the second game, Dauterman hit a three-run bomb to left in the first frame and finished 2-for-3 at the dish with two runs scored and five runs-batted-in.

Jaci Messmer drove in four runs while Taylor Kessinger knocked in two more for the Oilers in the win.

Lauren Orban picked up the victory, allowing four runs, only two earned, on seven hits in five innings of work.

The Oilers will host the Panthers again tomorrow beginning at 1 pm.
