Bulldogs Bite Oilers

The University of Findlay softball team was swept by Ferris State University on Sunday, April 15 in Big Rapids, Michigan to give them an 18-13-1 record on the season with a 6-10 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers lost the first game 17-9 as Lauren Orban gave up 11 runs on seven hits in four innings of work.

Tori Allen hit a three-run home run in the second inning while Jaci Messmer finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Kara Hochevar drove in three runs and finished 2-for-4 while Taylor Kessinger finished with a pair of RBI's.

Findlay fell 8-2 in the second contest as Julia Stadler allowed eight runs on ten hits in seven innings of action.

At the plate, Calli Coppus went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a run scored while Messmer finished 1-for-4, also driving in a run.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they face Hillsdale College in a twin bill beginning at 1 pm in Hillsdale, Michigan.
