Game 1

Game 2

The University of Findlay softball team split a twin bill with Urbana University on Saturday, March 13, losing 8-6 in the opener before winning 9-8 in the nightcap. The split gives the Oilers a 5-4 record on the season.

In the first game, Tawna Whited took the loss after allowing seven runs on six hits in six innings of work.

Both Jackie Messersmith and Courtney Dwyer generated two hits for the Findlay offense. Lauren Mathias' solo homer in the 5th produced two RBI.

In the second game, Brittany Dauterman was victorious after allowing one hit and fanning two batters on the mound.

Tied at 8 in the bottom of the seventh frame, Messersmith stole second after being entered as a pinch runner for Emily Reynolds. Freshman Allie Cox doubled to right center, giving Oilers the 9-8 win over the Blue Knights.

Dauterman and Dwyer finished 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs-batted-in while  Morgan Arnold's single brought in two batters.

The Oilers will be back in action Friday to host Cedarville for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
