Findlay Splits With Cedarville
The University of Findlay softball team split a doubleheader with Cedarville University on Friday, March 16, winning 9-6 in the opener before losing 10-5 in the nightcap. The split gives the Oilers a 6-5 record on the season.
In the first game, Tawna Whited picked up her third win while allowing five runs on ten hits in five innings of work.
Tori Allen went 4-for-4 at the plate as the sophomore produced three runs and five RBI, including her three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the 5th inning.
In the second game, Whited fell to 3-4 for the 2012 campaign, giving up six runs on five hits.
Courtney Dwyer's in-the-park grand slam was her only hit in the second game. Oiler Jenna Motuza finished 2-for-4 at the plate.
The Oilers will travel to Concordia on Monday, March 19 for a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
