The University of Findlay softball team split a twin bill with Hillsdale College on Saturday, March 24, winning 6-4 in the opener before losing 3-2 in extra innings of game two. The Chargers move to 9-8 overall and 3-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action. The split gives the Oilers a 11-6 record on the season with a mark of 3-1 in conference play.

In game one, Brittany Dauterman  was victorious after allowing three runs off of four hits and giving up three walks. Dauterman fanned six batters in almost six innings on the mound.

Both Dauterman and Tori Allen went 3-for-4 in the first contest with Allen crossing the plate twice. Carly Borders and Dauterman produced two runs-batted-in.

In the second game, Tawna Whited took the loss after allowing three runs on 10 hits in eight innings of work.

Emily Stewart and Borders generated three and two hits, respectively.

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow to host #18 Grand Valley State for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
