The University of Findlay softball team split a doubleheader with Lake Superior State on Saturday, April 14, winning 5-3 in the opener before losing 11-2 in the second game. The split gives the Oilers a 20-17 record on the season and a 11-11 mark in conference action.

In the opener, Tawna Whited picked up her tenth win of the season while fanning two batters. Whited allowed three runs from seven hits and three walks.

Brittany Dauterman went 3-for-4 in game one and teammate Carly Borders managed two RBI with her homerun in the top of the third. Findlay scored five runs off of 10 hits in their 20th victory of the 2012 campaign.

In the second game, Grace Ammons took the loss allowing 11 runs on nine hits in 6.2 innings of work.

Jenna Motuza was 2-for-3 at the plate as Dauterman, Tori Allen, Lauren Mathias, and Morgan Arnold each had a hit in game two.

The Oilers will play GLIAC rival Saginaw Valley in University Center, Michigan, tomorrow for a twinbill beginning at noon.
