Oilers Open Up with Split in Florida

The Oilers softball team began their season by going 1-1 in Clermont, Fla.  The Oilers claimed a 1-0 win over the University of Sciences and then fell 6-1 to the University of Mary on March 4.

Tawna Whited picked up the victory in the first game, striking out seven hitters in the complete game shutout.

Tori Allen scored the lone run while Courtney Dwyer, Emily Stewart and Lauren Mathias each had singles.

Brittany Dauterman took the loss on the mound for Findlay against Mary, allowing six runs on seven hits.

Carly Borders hit a double while Jackie Messersmtih drove in the lone run.
