The University of Findlay softball team lost a pair of home games against Saginaw Valley University on Tuesday, April 2. The Oilers fell 7-4 in the first game and 8-7 in the second contest. With the losses, Findlay drops to 12-8 overall with a 2-6 mark in conference action.

Brittany Dauterman took the loss in the opener, giving up five runs on nine hits and three walks in 5.2 innings of work.

Emily Reynolds had two hits and an RBI. Jenna Motuza generated two RBI in the contest.

In the second game, Nicole Motuza was saddled with the loss, allowing one run off of two hits. Starting pitcher Tawna Whited fanned four batters and gave up four runs from six hits and three walks in four innings on the mound.

Tori Allen and Courtney Dwyer each doubled twice in the nightcap. Jenna Motuza's triple in the top of the 5th to plate Dwyer gave Findlay the 4-3 lead. After Motuza scored on an illegal pitch, the Cardinals tied the game at five in the bottom of the sixth.

In the top of the 7th, Findlay took back the lead 7-5. Courtney Dwyer doubled down the left line and advanced to third on a passed ball. Dwyer scored on a fielding error and J. Motuza reached first. Allen plated Motuza with a double to left center.

However, Kari Knight's homer in the bottom of the frame tied the score at seven. The Cardinals came out victorious as Kailah Happ plated Jordan Randall for the 8-7 win.

The Oilers will host Urbana University for a twinbill on Thursday, April 4, beginning at 3 p.m.
