3 Softball Players Earn 1st Team All-Conference Honors

The University of Findlay softball team had three individuals earn first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors as the league office unveiled their annual awards on Friday, May 3 in Findlay, Ohio.

Senior outfielder Jenna Motuza, senior utility player Brittany Dauterman and junior second basemen Tori Allen were all honored as first team all-conference selections while senior first basemen Carly Borders earned second team accolades.

Motuza is hitting .389 on the season with 40 runs scored.  She has also recorded five triples, 17 runs batted in and eight stolen bases.

During her career, Motuza has recorded 184 hits and scored 151 runs, both school records.  She also ranks second all-time with 14 triples.

Dauterman is hitting .374 on the year with 17 doubles and four home runs.  She has also driven in 32 runs and scored 24 more.

In her time with the Oilers, Dauterman has amassed 22 home runs, 135 runs batted in and 46 doubles, which are all school records.  She has also pounded out 172 hits, the second highest total in Findlay history.

Allen is .297 on the year with 14 doubles, three home runs and 28 runs batted in.  She has also scored 27 runs and hit three triples.

During her tenure with the squad, Allen has racked up 43 doubles, which ranks second all-time at Findlay.  She also ranks third all-time with 110 runs scored and ranks fourth with 97 runs batted in.  Her 143 hits is the fifth highest total in school history as well.

Borders is having a fantastic senior season for Findlay.  She has clubbed a team-high eight home runs and leads the conference in walks with 30.  She has also totaled 33 runs batted in and is hitting .322 on the year.

In addition, junior shortstop Emily Reynolds and junior pitcher Tawna Whited earned honorable mention all-conference for their performance this season.

Reynolds is hitting .347 on the season with seven home runs and 33 runs batted in while Whited has proven to the be the Oilers ace on the mound with a 13-4 record to go along with a 2.80 earned run average.
