Oilers Go 1-1 on Day 2 in Clermont, Florida
The University of Findlay softball team split a pair of games on Wednesday, March 5 in Clermont, Florida. The Oilers defeated Quincy 2-1 then lost to University of Mary 7-1.
In their win, Tawna Whited picked up the victory on the mound by striking out 4 hitters in 6.1 innings. She is now 2-0 on the season.
Whited also had a big game at the plate and finished with a double, one run scored and a RBI. Courtney Dwyer also helped lead the offense with a double and a RBI.
Against the University of Mary, Nicole Motuza picked up the loss on the mound after allowing six runs in 3.2 innings of work.
Jackie Messersmith doubled and scored a run while Tori Allen finished with a single, stolen base and a RBI.
The Oilers return to the field tomorrow when they face Post and Lewis in a two-game set.
