Hillsdale, MI – The University of Findlay softball team traveled to Hillsdale, Michigan to face Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rival Hillsdale College in a doubleheader, which took place on Tuesday, April 14. The Oilers lost the first game 4-1 then lost the second game 5-0. After losing the doubleheader the Oilers have a 17-15 record on the season.
In the first game, Chelsea McManaway took the loss on the mound for the Oilers. She gave up six hits and four earned runs in five innings.
Megan Turner finished the game with three singles while Brooke Scherger added two singles and one run scored. Katie Dunphy finished the game with a double and Lauren Trumpler finished with a run batted in.
In the second game, Bonnie Zappitelli took the loss on the mound for the Oilers. She gave up eight hits and five earned runs in 5.2 innings.
Megan Turner finished the game with a double while Amanda Badertscher added a single.
The Oilers return to the field on Wednesday, April 15 when they host a doubleheader against GLIAC rival Tiffin University at Anderson Field. The first game is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
