Softball Announces Signings

The University of Findlay softball program announced their recruiting class on June 28. Caragyn Yanek, Devyn Zuro, Dylan Wiley, Megan Fisher, Brooke Otto and Traci Merriman will all compete for the Oilers during the 2018 campaign.

Yanek attended South Range High School and was a four-time, first team all-conference pick. She was twice named the Northeastern Ohio Pitcher of the Year and earned all-Ohio accolades twice during her illustrious career. She had a 28-3 record on the mound.

Zuro comes to the Oilers after a standout career for Nazareth Academy in Willowbrook, Ill. She earned all-Suburban area honors and was an all-Illinois pick. She hit .434 and had a 14-1 record on the mound.

Wiley attended Napoleon High School and was named all-conference, all-district and all-region three times. She hit .450 as a senior.

Fisher went to Wapakoneta High School and was named the Western Buckeye League Player of the Year. An all-Ohio selection, Fisher set a school record with a 0.84 earned run average.

Otto is from Franklin County High School in Brookville, Ind. She was named all-conference four times and holds multiple school records for career hits, runs, doubles and triples.

Merriman is from Grandville, Mich. Her brother plays on the Oilers baseball team.
