Lowe Named G-MAC Coach of the Year

All-Conference Team

University of Findlay head softball coach Danielle Lowe was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Coach of the Year on May 2.

Lowe guided the Oilers to a 27-20 record during the regular season, which included a 17-5 mark in league play. The earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament and finished the year with an 11-3 mark in home games.

Seniors Amanda Delmonte and Madison Arnold were each named first team all-conference for the Oilers as well.

Delmonte hit .336 with three home runs and a team-high 29 runs batted in during the regular season. She also smacked a team-high 11 doubles and scored 22 runs.

Arnold hit a team-high .363 and scored a team-best 35 runs. She also clubbed four home runs, drove in 27 runs and stole six bases.

In addition, junior Hailey Bryan was named second team all-conference while senior Destinie Keeton earned honorable mention all-league accolades.

Bryan paced the pitching staff with a 14-5 record. She recorded a 1.95 earned run average during the regular season and registered 80 strikeouts in 125.2 innings of work.

Keeton hit .293 with four home runs and 23 runs batted in. She also scored 24 runs and bashed nine doubles.

The Oilers will be back in action again on May 3 when they face Kentucky Wesleyan College in the opening round of the G-MAC Tournament in Xenia, Ohio. The contest is scheduled to begin at 12pm.
