Findlay Wins Two Over Falcons

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay softball swept Notre Dame College in their double header against on April 2. Findlay's record is now 13-13 on the season and 3-3 in the conference.

Game 1 | W 4-3 (Box Score)

In game one, junior Rebecca Harvey went 3 for 4 behind the plate and scored one run for the Oilers.

Senior Salwa Al-Hajabed went 1 for 3 and recorded two RBIs, while sophomore Devyn Zuro went 2 for 4 and senior Amanda DelMonte went 3 for 3, each batting in one runner.

Junior Allison Brunner scored two runs in the win, while freshman Gloria Corona scored one.

Senior Hailey Bryan started out pitching for the Oilers, making her 100th career appearance, and breaking the record for most appearances in school history. Bryan pitched five innings, recorded two strikeouts, and only allowed four hits and one run.

Sophomore Caragyn Yanek finished pitching for the Oilers in the last two innings, recording two strikeouts, two errors, and allowing one hit and two runs.

Game 2 | L 10-7 (Box Score)

Zuro lead the pack in game two, going 2 for 3 behind the plate and scoring two runs. Zuro hit a grand slam in the bottom of the second, to record 4 RBIs.

DelMonte went 2 for 4, scored two runs and batted in one runner, while Harvey went 1 for 2 to score two runs and bat in two runners.

Brunner scored two runs in the win, while sophomore Sadie Gearhart and freshman Madelyn Turner each scored one.

Sophomore Megan Fisher started pitching in game two for the Oilers, recording one strikeout, and allowing two runs and six hits in the three innings she pitched.

Freshman Lyndsey Seamon pitched one inning, and allowed two hits and two runs.

Freshman Carly Brandon finished pitching the last three innings in the win, recording five strikeouts, and allowing three hits and three runs.  

The Oilers are back in action on April 6 in for their home double header versus Davis & Elkins at starting at 1:00pm.
