The University of Findlay softball team swept Kentucky Wesleyan College on April 19 at Anderson Field, winning 7-4 in the first contest and 12-9 in the second. The wins push the Oilers record to 21-19 on the season with an 11-9 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.

In game one the Oilers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second before the Panthers rallied back to tie it at 4-4 in the sixth. The Oilers would then tack on three runs in the bottom half of the inning, which was highlighted by an RBI double from sophomore Devyn Zuro and an RBI single by freshman Caroline Turner, to claim the victory.

Senior Hailey Bryan improved to 10-9 on the year by limiting the Panthers to four runs on ten hits in seven innings of work.

Zuro and senior Amanda Delmonte went 2-for-4 at the plate while junior Allison Brunner finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored, a RBI, and a home run.

The Oilers once again got off to a fast start in the second game of the day, scoring six runs in the first. Zuro plated two with a single to right, freshman Lyndsey Seamon drove home a run with a single to center, and Brunner blasted a home run to right.

As was the case in the first game, the Panthers quickly rallied back and took a 9-6 lead by the fifth inning. The Oilers would tie the game in fifth as their rally started with an RBI double by Seamon. Brunner followed with a single to score Seamon and freshman Gloria Corona tripled down the right field line to score Brunner.

The Oilers then took control of the game in the sixth when senior Salwa Al-Hajabed blasted a three-run homer to right to give Findlay a 12-9 victory.

Sophomore Megan Fisher improved to 5-2 on the year as she came on in relief to throw 4.1 innings. She allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits. Sophomore Caragyn Yanek started the contest and allowed five runs on five hits in 2.2 innings of action.

Seamon finished the game by going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two runs batted in while Brunner and Zuro each went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.

Sophomore Dylan Wiley went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while junior Rebecca Harvey went 1-for-3 with two runs scored. She also drove in one run.

The Oilers will be back in action again tomorrow when they host Trevecca Nazarene University at 1pm.
