Findlay Swept by Tiffin on Senior Day

Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay softball team celebrated senior day on Saturday, April 27 as they took on the Tiffin University Dragons in a doubleheader at The Cube. The Oilers struggled to get their offense going as they lost both games to fall to 21-21 on the season and 11-11 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play. Tiffin improves to 28-15 on the season with a record of 18-8 in the conference.

Tiffin hit a home run in the top of the first inning of game one to set the tone for the day. The Dragons added a pair of runs in the third inning to increase their lead to 3-0.

Findlay scored their lone run of the day in the sixth inning of the first game when junior Rebecca Harvey laced a single that bounced off third base into left field, scoring Dylan Wiley. Despite three hits in the inning, the Oilers just managed the single run.

In the second game the trend continued as the Oilers failed to score a run on just four hits while Tiffin managed ten hits and pushed five runs across the plate.

Dylan Wiley and Lyndsey eamon each had three hits on the day for Findlay to lead the offense.

Senior Hailey Bryan took the loss on the mound in the opener as the threw a complete game while giving up three runs, two earned, on four hits. She struck out eight.

Sophomore Megan Fisher fell to 5-3 on the mound after a compete game effort in the nightcap. She threw seven innings and scattered ten hits while allowing five runs. She walked three and struck out five.

Findlay is scheduled to play their final games of the regular season tomorrow, April 28, at home when they play host to Hillsdale College. Those games will begin at noon.
