The University of Findlay softball team swept Ashland University on Mar. 13 at Anderson Field, winning 9-1 in game one and 4-1 in game two. The wins give the Oilers a 7-6 record on the year.

In the opening game, the Oilers used a seven-run second inning to propel them to victory as senior Megan Fisher picked up the win by allowing only one run on two hits in five innings of work. She also struck out nine, but walked five. At the plate, she had one hit, one run, and drove in one run as well.

Senior Devyn Zuro finished with two hits while freshman Avery Shepherd had a double, scored two runs, and drove in two as well.

In second game, senior Caragyn Yanek allowed one run on three hits in six innings of work to pick up the victory. She also struck out 12 and walked two.

Fisher and junior Lyndsey Seamon each had a pair of hits while Zuro drove in two.

The Oilers will be back at home tomorrow to host Purdue Northwest in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
