Oilers Kick Off Their Season At The Tom Stubbs Relays

The University of Findlay women's swimming team completed their first meet of the season at the Tom Stubbs Relays at Bowling Green State University, which took place on Friday, October 3 in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The first event of the meet was the 200-yard medley relay, in which the Oilers placed 6th, 11th and 13th.  The 6th place team which included Jessica Ward, Kaley Holmstrom, Molly Cade and Emma Barnes finished with a time of 1:50.14.  The 11th place team which included Hannah Schreiber, Rachel Farmer, Emily Annen and Emily Stroud finished with a time of 1:55.14.  The 13th place team which included Kacie Miller, Alyssa Sauter, Michelle Stefaniak and Kari Lemanski finished with a time of 2:07.37. 

The next event was the 3x100 yard butterfly relay in which the Oilers finished in 6th, 10th and 11th.  The 6th place team which included Cade, Annen and Schreiber finished with a time of 3:01.58.  The 10th place team which included Farmer, Kyleigh Rubis and Currin finished with a time of 3:11.61. 

In the 3x100 yard backstroke relay event the Oilers took 4th place with the team of Barnes, Ward and Marissa McDonald finishing with a time of 3:00.35. 

The Oilers took 7th place in the 3x100 yard breaststroke relay event (Holmstrom, Farmer and Katie Fisher) finishing with a time of 3:35.81. 

The Oilers took 8th place in the 800 yard freestyle relay with the team of Barnes, Currin, Cade and Ward finishing with a time of 8:07.35. 

The Oilers took 9th place in the 400 yard medley relay with the team of Schreiber, Holmstrom, Annen and Emily Stroud finishing with a time of 4:13.98. 

In the 200 yard freestyle relay event the Oilers took 7th place with the team of Ward, Cade, Stroud and Stefaniak finishing with a time 1:42.45. 

The Oilers took 8th place in the 3x500 yard freestyle relay event with the team of Barnes, Currin and Annen finishing with a time of 16:45.36. 

In the 400 yard 4x100 individual medley relay the Oilers took 9th place with the team of Holmstrom, Fisher, Farmer and McDonald finishing with a time of 4:24.07. 

In the final event of the meet, the Oilers took 8th place in the 400 yard freestyle relay with the team of Ward, Cade, Stroud and Barnes finishing with a time of 3:44.24. 

The Oilers will be back in competition on Friday, October 10 when they travel to Ashland, Ohio to face Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rival Ashland University.
