Oilers Set 5 School Records During Day 2 Of The Calvin Winter Invitational

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the second day of the Calvin Winter Invitational, which took place on Friday, December 5 at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  After the second day the men are in sixth place with 167 points while the women are in third place with 239 points. 

On the women's side, the relay team of Annie Currin, Marissa McDonald, Michelle Stefaniak and Emily Annen took twelfth place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.19. 

Molly Cade claimed a first place finish in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.55.  Cade set a school record and established a B cut during the preliminary round where she finished with a time of 2:04.13.  Kyleigh Rubis took twelfth place in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:14.81. 

Kaley Holmstrom took second place in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.69.  Holmstrom set a B cut during the preliminary round with a time of 1:03.69.  She also set a B cut during the preliminary round of the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:28.21.    

Jessica Ward claimed a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 56.05.  Ward established a B cut and set a school record during the preliminary where she finished with a time of 55.64.  Marissa McDonald took eighth place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.06. 

Emma Barnes took second place in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.68.  She set a B cut during the preliminary round with a time of 1:53.38.  Barnes set a B cut in the 400 yard individual medley preliminary round with a time of 4:30.97. 

Rachel Farmer took seventh place in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 4:46.29 while Kate Fisher took tenth place with a time of 4:45.68. 

Ashleigh Weddington took eighth place on the one meter board with a final score of 348.40. 

On the men's side, the relay team of Todo Djurovic, Cody Craig, Nick Kaftan and Janko Radmanovic took eighth place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:25.96. 

Djurovic claimed a first place finish in the 400 yard individual medley with a time of 3:59.68. 

Radmanovic took second place in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.63.  Radmanovic set a school record and established a B cut during the preliminary round with a time of 1:49.33.  Radmanovic took third place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 20.99.

Aaron Mitchell took eleventh place in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:00.71. 

Ross Stansbery took eighth place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 55.69 while Craig took thirteenth place with a time of 56.77.

The Oilers will conclude the Calvin Winter Invite tomorrow with the first session beginning at 10 a.m.
