Oilers Set 2 School Records On Day 1 of GLIAC Championships

The University of Findlay men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed the first day of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships, which took place on Wednesday February 11 in Jenison, Michigan.  After day 1 the women are in fifth place with 58 points while the men are also in fifth place with 61 points. 

On the women's side, Kaley Holmstrom took fourth place in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.50 and her fourth place finish achieved a B cut.  Rachel Farmer took fifteenth place in the same event with a time of 2:10.71.

Jessica Ward took tenth place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.34 while Molly Cade took fifteenth place with a time of 24.75. 

The relay team of Emma Barnes, Ward, Cade and Holmstrom claimed a third place finish in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.20.  Their third place finish established a new school record and achieved B cut status. 

On the men's side, Janko Radmanovic claimed a fourth place finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 20.81.  Radmanovic finished the preliminary round with a time of 20.71 which set a new school record and achieved B cut status. 

Todo Djurovic took eighth place in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 1:54.75. 

Graham Rossi took eighth place on the three meter board for the Oilers finishing with a final score of 272.90.   

The relay team of Clay Fogle, Graham Copus, Aaron Mitchell and Cody Craig took seventh place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:39.44. 

The GLIAC championships resume tomorrow with the first session starting at 10:30 A.M.
