Oilers Take On Day 2 of GLIAC Championships

Results

The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the second day of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Thursday, Feb. 11 in Mott, Michigan. The teams had another great day of record breaking performances and high place finishes among their competition.  

Women

The 400 yard medley relay team of junior Meri Cizmar, senior Kaley Holstrom, senior Jessica Ward, and freshman Amanda Stiegal finished fourth overall in the finals with a NCAA'B' standard qualifying time of 3:50.54.

Sophomore Emma Barnes placed sixth in the 400 yard individual medley finals with a time of 4:33.23

Ward also placed second in the 100 yard butterfly finals with a 56.70 time.  This time also gives Ward a NCAA 'B' standard qualification. Barnes followed right behind her teammate, placing third in the event with another NCAA 'B' standard time of 56.91.

Men

The 400 yard medley relay team of freshman Trae Gulgin, junior Todo Djurovic, sophomore Janko Radmanovic, and junior Nick Kaftan finished seventh in the finals with a time of 3:24.29. This final time also earns the team a Findlay school record in the event.

The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Radmanovic, sophomore Ross Stansbery, freshman Connor Whitaker, and junior Kaleb Brown earned sixth place in the finals with a time of 1:26.17.

Djurovic continued his competition with a 4:07.24 time and a seventh place finish in the 400 yard individual medley finals.

Radmanovic also had success in the pool today earning fourth in the 100 yard butterfly final swimming a 49.52. This performance also awards Radmanovic with a NCAA 'B' standard qualifying time.

Diving

Senior Graham Rossi competed in the 1 meter diving event. Rossi placed eleventh with a final score of 305.15

Both the men and women remain ranked in fifth place overall among their competitors.  The Oilers will continue with their third day of GLIAC Championship competition Friday, Feb. 12 in Mott, Michigan.  Competition will resume at 12pm.
