All-American Day in Indianapolis

The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams competed in their fourth day of competition in the Division II National Championships in Indianapolis, IN.  It was another day of memorable record breaking performances and honorable All-American titles for the Oilers.

The women's 400 medley relay team of junior Meri Cizmar, senior Kaley Holmstrom, senior Jessica Ward, and freshman Amanda Stiegal reached an eighth place finish in the finals with a time of 3:48.28. The relay team reached a preliminary time of 3:47.03 breaking the current school record in the event of 3:47.66. The eighth place finish also earns the team All-American honors for their performance in the event.  

Senior Jessica Ward reached seventeenth place in the women's 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.94. With this time Ward beat her current school record time of 56.15 set in 2015. Senior teammate Kaley Holmstrom also competed in the event and placed twenty-fourth  with a time of 56.67.

Sophomore standout Janko Radmanovic added another All-American title to his career with his seventh place finish in the men's 100 yard butterfly.  The sophomore swam a preliminary time of 47.82 and reached a time of 48.09 in the finals.  This time earns Radmanovic the new school record, breaking his previous record of 48.85 in the event. Radmanovic has also earned an All-American honors in the men's 50 yard freestyle during these national championships.

The Oilers will continue their competition in the Division II National Championships Friday, March 11 at 10:30am in Indianapolis, IN.
