Ending the Season as All-Americans

The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams competed in their final day of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II National Championships.  Over the course of the national competition, the Oilers earned more than ten All-American titles and broke numerous school records.  Out of thirty-one teams the men placed twenty-fifth overall in the team standings. The women's team reached an honorable eighteenth place finish out of the thirty-eight teams competing in the women's championship.

Freshman Amanda Stiegal placed thirty-ninth in the women's 100 yard freestyle.  Stiegal swam a preliminary time of 52.35.

Sophomore Janko Radmanovic placed fifty-fourth in the men's 100 yard freestyle with a preliminary time of 46.23. Radmanovic currently holds the school record in the event with a 45.65 time set in 2015 season. The sophomore has earned several All-American titles over the course of these national championships.  

Junior Meri Cizmar placed eighth in the women's 200 yard backstroke swimming a preliminary time of 2:00.35 and a finals time of 2:01.89. With this eighth place finish Cizmar has earned All-American honors. Senior teammate Jessica Ward also earned an All-American title in the 200 yard backstroke.  The senior placed thirteenth overall in the event with a final time of 2:01.62.  

Senior Kaley Holmstrom placed sixteenth in the women's 200 yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:20.39.  The senior swam a preliminary time of 2:18.15 to give her the new school record in the event.

The women's 400 relay team of Stiegal, Ward, Cizmar, and Holstrom finished eighteenth overall in the event. The team's final time of 3:31.15 earns the athletes the new school record in the event as well.

With completion of the NCAA Division II National Championships the Oilers conclude their successful 2016 season in the pool.
