Oilers Open Season at Ashland

The University of Findlay men and women swimming and diving teams traveled to Ashland University on Friday, September 30 for the Ashland University Fall Invite.

Men's Results

The 200 yard freestyle relay team consisting of junior Janko Radmanovic, sophomore Conner Whitaker, freshman Isaac Stretch, and senior Cody Craig earned 3rd with a time of 1:27.98.

Radmanovic took home 1st with a time of 21.12 in the 50 yard freestyle and in the 100 yard butterfly at the 50.58 mark.

Earning 3rd place in 3:40.62 was the 400 yard medley team of sophomore Trae Gulgin, freshman Nathan Ladetto, freshman Tucker Stocker, and Radmanovic.

The men finished in 2nd with 514.5 points.

Women's Results

The 200 yard freestyle relay team consisting of freshman Lauren Blanchard, freshman Kathryn Samuelson, freshman Hanna Cederholm, and sophomore Amanda Stiegal claimed 1st with a time of 1:38.94.

With a time of 3:59.16, Samuelson, Cederholm, senior Meri Cizmar, and Stiegal also earned 1st in the 400 yard medley relay.

The 200 yard medley relay team also picked up a 1st place finish in 1:48.02.  The team featured Samuelson, Cederholm, Cizmar, and Blanchard.

Cederholm also performed well in the 200 yard IM with a 1st place finish in a time of 2:12.87.

Stiegal and Blanchard finished in the top three of the 50 yard freestyle.  Stiegal claimed 2nd with a time of 24.88 and Blanchard came in 3rd at the 25.01 mark.

In the 100 yard breaststroke, Cederholm grabbed 1st with a time of 1:05.96 and freshman Julia Snell finished 2nd at the 1:08.89 mark.

The 800 yard freestyle relay of Snell, Stiegal, freshman Katharine Kouvaris, and Blanchard came in 2nd with a time of 8:04.57.

Junior Rachel Farmer's time of 5:07.36 earned her 3rd in the 400 yard IM.

In the 100 yard backstroke, Cizmar collected 2nd with a time of 1:00.05 and Samuelson picked up 3rd at the 1:00.50 mark.

Freshman Olivia Wile also picked up a 3rd place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.50.

Snell collected a 3rd place finish in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:25.40.

Diving

Sophomore Hannah May finished in 3rd in the 3 meter diving with a score of 203.10.

The women finished in 2nd place with 671 points.

The Oilers return to the pool on Saturday, October 15 at Saginaw Valley State at 1:00 p.m.
