Findlay Sends 5 to National Championship

Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay swimming and diving team will be sending five women to the NCAA Division II National Championship meet in Birmingham, Alabama. The event will run for five days, March 7-11, and will take place in the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Senior Meri Cizmar has earned her second consecutive trip to the meet as a member of the Oilers after earning all-American status in four different events last season. This year Cizmar has qualified in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke, both events in which she earned all-American in 2016. In the 100, Cizmar owns the 12th fastest time in the nation this season, a career-best 55.45 which she swam at the GLIAC Championship meet.  In the 200, Cizmar qualifies with the 11th fastest time in the nation, a career-best of 1:59.57 which she also swam at this season's GLIAC meet.

The Oilers will also send freshman Hanna Cederholm, freshman Katherine Samuelson, sophomore Amanda Stiegal, and freshman Lauren Blanchard
