Top-10 Individual Performances | #9 Meri Cizmar

The 2016-17 athletic year was another successful one for the Oilers, who saw a plethora of individual athletes achieve outstanding accomplishments. The UF athletic media relations staff has put together a list of the top-10 individual performances from the 2016-17 campaign and will be revealing them during the summer months.

#9 | Meri Cizmar | Women's Swimming

Meri Cizmar ended her career at Findlay in style, walking away with three All-American awards at the NCAA Division II National Championship. She took sixth at the national meet in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.56, eighth in the 100-yard backstroke at 54.85 and teamed with Kathryn Samuelson, Hanna Cederholm and Amanda Stiegal to place 11th in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:47.91.

Cizmar also picked up three all-conference awards for the Oilers during the 2016-17 campaign, earning them in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard medley relay. Her time of 54.22 in the 100-yard backstroke during the preliminary round of the championship event set a new school record and she also established a new school record with a time of 1:57.94 in the opening round of the 200-yard backstroke at the national meet.

During her career, Cizmar picked up seven All-American awards and has had a hand in setting four school records.
