Oilers Complete First Day of Nationals

Several individuals competed for the Oilers swimming and diving program on March 14 at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Greensboro, N.C.

Janko Radmanovic took part in the 50-yard freestyle on Wednesday for the men. He put up a preliminary time of 20.24 seconds, which was the 18th-fastest time during the opening session. His time enabled him to qualify for a swim-off to determine who gets into the final heat. Needing to finish in the top-two during the swim-off to make the finals, Radmanovic finished fourth with a time of 20.48.

Hanna Cederholm represented the Oilers in the 200 yard individual medley, placing at 24th with a prelim time of 2:05.26. The women's 200-yard medley relay team was also scheduled to compete, but were disqualified for an early entry into the pool.

The Oilers will continue their competition at nationals tomorrow with their women's 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relay teams. Emma Barnes will be swimming in the 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard freestyle, Cederholm will be competing in the 100-yard butterfly and Radmanovic in the 100-yard butterfly.
