Oilers Compete Against Falcons and Wildcats

Results

Bowling Green, OH – The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams competed on Saturday, October 7 against the Bowling Green Falcons and the Northern Michigan Wildcats.

Women's Results

The women had a successful day in the pool, finishing in first place in two events and second place in three events.

Kendra Polewski finished in first place over the Wildcats and the Falcons in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.52 which is good enough for a B standard in the event and is also the second-fastest time in the country this season. Hanna Cederholm also finished in first place but in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:06.48.

Polewski also finished second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 53.23. In the 200 yard breaststroke, Cederholm came in second place as well with a time of 2:24.98. A relay team consisting of Polewski, Amanda Stiegal, Chris McFarland, and Julia Snell finished in second in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:35.13.

The 200 yard medley relay team finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:48.01. The team consisted of McFarland, Cederholm, Amanda Klopp, and Stiegal. Another third place finish was Polewski in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.53.

Men's Results

Dalton Shevlin had a great day diving, finishing first in both the 3 meter and 1 meter diving events. He scored 178.55 and 211.20 respectively. Tyler Adkins finished second in the 1 meter diving event with score of 138.75.

Isaac Stretch had a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.17.

Connor Whitaker placed third in two different events on the day. He finished the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.14 and the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 53.29. In the 100 yard backstroke, Trae Gulgin finished third with a time of 53.18.

The Oilers also came in third in the 200 yard medley relay with a team consisting of Trae Gulgin, Isaac Stretch, Conner Whitaker, and Trent Williams. Their third place time was 1:36.53

The Aqua Oilers will be back in the pool on Friday, October 19 in Toledo, Ohio to compete against Indianapolis and Toledo. The meet will begin at 5:00 PM.
