Oilers Come Up a Bit Short in Detroit

Results

Detroit, Michigan – The University of Findlay men and women's swimming and diving teams competed against Wayne State University on Friday, Jan. 18 at 5:00PM. The Oilers took a loss on both ends, with the men scoring 103 points to Wayne State's 171, and the women scoring 126 to 157.

Men's Results

Isaac Stretch came out with a first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.57. Following right behind him in second was Nathan Bourne with a finishing time of 1:05.36.

Tyler Endecott also had a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. His finishing time was 5:01.41. Teammate Mark Billeaud came in second with a time of 5:12.00.

In the 400 yard IM, Nathan Landetto finished first with a time of 4:21.61. In second with a time of 4:25.29 was Tyler Endecott.

The Oilers finished out the night with a first place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay. The relay team consisted of Trent Williams, Isaac Stretch, Mark Billeaud, and Nathan Bourne. Their time was 3:20.26. Second place with a time of 3:25.72 was a relay team consisting of Alex Matthews, Trae Gulgin, Tucker Stocker, and Paul Pavala.

Women's Results

Hanna Cederholm had a great night in the pool and took first for the Oilers in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 30.24. She also took first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.00.

Kendra Polewski was also a winner, taking first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:15.43.

In the 400 yard IM, Ashton Klopp finished in first with a time of 4:50.10. Teammate Taylor Christensen was right behind her, finishing in second with a final time of 4:52.15.

The women finished out the night coming in first in the 400 yard freestyle relay. The team consisted of Chris McFarland, Kendra Polewski, Amanda Stiegal, and Julia Snell. Their first place time was 3:43.39. Teammates Jenna Dasher, Katy Kouvaris, Olivia Wile, and Payton Zess came in second with a time of 3:50.74.

 

The Oilers will be competing again on Saturday, January 26 in Tiffin, Ohio. They will be competing against the Tiffin Dragons and the Ursuline Arrows at 2:00PM.
