Oilers Compete at Kent State Tune Up

Results

The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Kent, Ohio for the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday, February 21. The only athletes in action for FIndlay were a select group of throwers.

Women

Sophomore Erica King led the way for the Oilers in the weight throw as she finished in fifth place with a provisional toss of 58'00.50". Sophomore Liz Streacker also met a provisional as she finished in eighth place in the event with a throw that measured 54'10.25". The final Findlay athlete to meet the provisional in that event was senior Anna Knapski whose throw of 53'11.25" placed her in ninth.

In shot put, Streacker finished in ninth place with a throw of 40'02.00".

Men

Senior Taylor Miller met the provisional in the shot put with his second place finish, a throw of 58'11.50". Another provisional came from senior Brian Jennings as his throw of 51'10.50" placed him in seventh. Sophomore Mitch Adkins also competed in the event and took 11th with a throw of 48'05.50". Former Oiler Derrick Vicars' throw of 62'03.25" won the event.

Miller also competed in the weight throw and placed in eighth with a provisional throw of 58'07.50". Jennings participated and finished in 13th (54'03.75"), while Adkins finished in 15th (50'11.00").
